CLEAR ANSWERS, PRACTICAL GUIDANCE

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Marriage Assistance Services

Planning a marriage in the Philippines often raises questions about documents, legal requirements, wedding arrangements and what happens after the ceremony.

At Marriage Assistance PH, we make the process easier by managing the practical arrangements included in your chosen service.

We give you a clear list of the initial documents to prepare. Our team then coordinates your wedding date, oversees the agreed ceremony arrangements, manages post-marriage documentation and arranges delivery of the completed documents covered by your package.

You prepare the necessary initial documents and complete the steps that require your personal participation. We take care of the agreed organisation and coordination.

Every service package includes our two contractual guarantees: a marriage ceremony within 15 calendar days and completion of the covered marriage documentation within 25 working days, in accordance with the agreed commencement terms.

01 · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Documents and Marriage Requirements

1. What documents do we need to get married in the Philippines?

The requirements depend on your nationality, age, marital history, residence and the circumstances of your intended marriage.

Documents may include identification, birth records, evidence of marital status and, where applicable, records relating to a previous marriage or documents issued by a foreign embassy or consulate.

Age may also affect requirements concerning parental consent, parental advice or marriage counselling.

We provide a document checklist based on your circumstances, so you know what to prepare before proceeding.

2. Do we have to prepare the documents ourselves?

Yes. You obtain and prepare the initial documents identified by our team.

Marriage Assistance PH explains the requirements and guides you through the preparation stage.

Once the necessary legal conditions have been addressed, our team coordinates the wedding arrangements and subsequent documentation services included in your package.

You do not need to independently organise every practical stage that our service covers.

3. Can foreign nationals get married in the Philippines?

Yes, foreign nationals can marry in the Philippines if they satisfy the applicable legal requirements.

The process depends on each person's nationality, legal capacity to marry, residence and marital history.

We help identify the relevant preparation requirements and coordinate the services within your selected package.

The competent Philippine authorities determine whether the legal conditions for marriage have been met.

4. Do foreign nationals need documents from their embassy before the wedding?

In relevant cases, yes.

Under the Philippine Family Code, foreign nationals applying for a marriage licence are generally required to provide a certificate of legal capacity to contract marriage issued by their diplomatic or consular officials, subject to applicable legal provisions.

Some circumstances require different documentation or procedures.

We identify the relevant pre-marriage consular requirements during the initial preparation stage, rather than leaving them until after the ceremony.

5. Can we marry if one of us has been married before?

Possibly, provided the previous marriage has ended or been dealt with in a way that gives the person legal capacity to marry again.

The evidence depends on whether a former spouse has died, a marriage has been annulled or declared void, or a divorce has the necessary legal effect.

Legal separation alone does not terminate a marriage or permit remarriage.

Foreign divorce recognition can involve additional legal requirements, particularly where a Filipino citizen is concerned.

We identify relevant preparation questions, but legal eligibility must be determined under the applicable law.

6. Will we need to attend government offices ourselves?

Our service is designed to minimise the administrative work you must organise independently.

Nevertheless, some applications, sworn declarations, identity checks or other legal procedures may require your personal attendance or signature.

We explain which activities our team can coordinate and which you must complete personally.

We handle the practical coordination without bypassing legal requirements.

Marriage Process and Scheduling

7. How does Marriage Assistance PH work?

Our service follows six stages:

  1. We give you the initial document checklist.
  2. We coordinate your wedding date.
  3. We organise and oversee your wedding.
  4. We manage post-marriage documentation coordination.
  5. We arrange delivery of the completed documents.
  6. We explain your embassy or consular next steps.

You prepare your initial documents and participate where the law requires.

We coordinate the agreed service from initial preparation to document delivery.

8. Can two foreign nationals marry in the Philippines?

Yes, provided both individuals meet the applicable legal requirements.

Where a marriage licence is required, the appropriate Local Civil Registrar is determined by the habitual residence rules under Philippine law, not simply by the couple's preferred wedding venue.

If neither person habitually resides in the Philippines, the lawful application route needs to be established before wedding arrangements are confirmed.

Our team helps identify the appropriate preparation and coordination requirements for the couple's circumstances.

9. Is a marriage licence required?

A marriage licence is generally required, although Philippine law provides specific statutory exceptions.

Under the ordinary procedure, the Local Civil Registrar must post the marriage application notice for 10 consecutive days before the licence is issued.

This is a mandatory statutory stage, not the total time needed to complete a wedding.

We coordinate the agreed preparation and scheduling while respecting the legally required process.

Any exemption must be established under the applicable law.

10. Will you arrange our wedding date and solemnising officer?

Yes.

We coordinate the wedding date with an appropriately authorised solemnising officer and manage the agreed scheduling arrangements.

For every package, our contractual service commitment is to arrange the marriage ceremony within the applicable 15-calendar-day guarantee period, while ensuring that the legal requirements are met.

The relevant commencement conditions are confirmed in your written agreement.

11. Do all packages include the 15-day marriage guarantee?

Yes. Every Marriage Assistance PH package includes our 15-calendar-day marriage guarantee.

This applies to Basic, High End and all other service packages.

The guarantee is a contractual commitment by Marriage Assistance PH, subject to the agreed commencement terms and written guarantee conditions.

It does not authorise any departure from Philippine marriage law or give our company control over government decisions.

12. When do the 15-day and 25-working-day guarantees begin?

Both guarantees begin on the same Service Commencement Date: the actual date on which Marriage Assistance PH first performs an agreed professional activity under your accepted service booking.

Your booking documentation must record that actual common start date and the resulting deadline for the 15-calendar-day ceremony guarantee and the 25-working-day documentation guarantee.

It must also explain how working days and applicable public holidays are counted.

The 25-working-day period does not restart after the wedding. An initial enquiry or payment alone does not start either guarantee; contracted assessment, document review, checklist preparation or scheduling may constitute the first service activity.

We explain the applicable timetable before you authorise the agreed service.

03 · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Wedding Day and Organisation

13. Do you manage the entire wedding organisation?

Yes. We organise and oversee all wedding arrangements included in your selected package.

Our team takes responsibility for the practical coordination of the ceremony and any additional agreed services.

You can concentrate on the occasion instead of independently supervising the arrangements.

14. Who legally performs our marriage ceremony?

The legal ceremony is performed by an appropriately authorised solemnising officer.

Marriage Assistance PH coordinates the wedding arrangements and communicates with the relevant parties.

We do not independently solemnise marriages or exercise the powers of a government authority.

15. Do we need to attend the wedding in person?

Yes. Both parties must personally participate in the marriage ceremony where required by Philippine law.

Under the ordinary legal procedure, the couple must appear before the authorised solemnising officer and declare their consent to marry in the presence of at least two witnesses of legal age.

You must also complete the required signatures.

Our team manages the surrounding organisation, but these personal legal steps remain yours.

16. Can you arrange a civil wedding or a larger celebration?

Yes. We coordinate the wedding arrangements included in your chosen service.

Different packages may provide different levels of ceremony support, venue arrangements, supplier coordination, transport or reception services.

We explain which arrangements are included before your booking is confirmed.

All ceremonies must meet the applicable legal requirements.

17. Will your team oversee our wedding day?

Yes. Our team oversees the agreed wedding arrangements and coordinates the relevant service providers.

We manage the practical responsibilities covered by your package so that you are not left to organise the ceremony independently.

Your written agreement identifies the services and responsibilities included.

04 · FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

After Marriage and Document Delivery

18. What happens after our wedding ceremony?

Our team continues with the post-marriage documentation arrangements included in your package.

The solemnising officer is responsible for reporting the marriage to the appropriate civil registrar under the applicable legal procedure.

We coordinate the agreed follow-up, document requests and subsequent administrative arrangements without replacing that statutory responsibility.

19. Do you manage the marriage registration and documentation process?

We manage the coordination and follow-up included in your service.

This may involve communication with relevant parties, monitoring the progress of official records and arranging permitted document requests.

The Local Civil Registrar, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and other competent institutions remain responsible for their official functions.

If identification, authorisation or personal attendance is required for a document request, we explain the necessary steps.

We act on your behalf only where the relevant authority permits it.

20. Is the 25-working-day document guarantee included in every package?

Yes. All Marriage Assistance PH packages include our 25-working-day marriage documentation completion guarantee.

This guarantee is not exclusive to premium or High End services.

It applies to the marriage documentation covered by your written agreement, calculated according to the agreed commencement terms.

Before booking, we identify the documents covered by the guarantee and explain the applicable start date, deadline and working-day definition.

This is our company's contractual commitment, not a statement that government authorities guarantee their own processing times.

21. Will we receive a PSA-issued marriage certificate?

The documents you receive depend on the records included in your selected package.

Before you book, we identify in writing whether a PSA-issued marriage certificate is included and which specific documents are covered by the 25-working-day completion guarantee.

A locally registered marriage record and a PSA-issued certificate may become available at different stages.

Our team explains the applicable document arrangements and any identification or authorisation requirements.

22. Will you deliver our completed marriage documents?

Yes. We arrange delivery of the completed documents covered by your package.

Our post-marriage service includes coordinating the specified documents and arranging their handover through the agreed method.

Your agreement identifies which documents must be completed, when they are due, and when and how they will be delivered.

Document completion and physical delivery are distinct responsibilities. The precise delivery commitments must be stated in your agreement.

23. Will you explain what to do with our embassy after the wedding?

Yes.

Depending on your nationality and residence, you may need to report or register your marriage with an embassy, consulate or another authority.

We explain the relevant next steps and direct you towards official instructions.

Any apostille, authentication or translation requirements depend on the documents involved and the receiving authority. These are separate processes.

Where personal attendance, declarations or applications are required, you must complete those actions yourself.

Packages, Guarantees and Support

24. What is the difference between your service packages?

Our packages differ in the wedding arrangements, additional services and practical assistance included.

We explain each package's scope, price and relevant exclusions before you proceed.

All packages share the same two contractual guarantees:

  • Marriage ceremony within 15 calendar days.
  • Completion of covered marriage documentation within 25 working days.

These guarantees apply across the entire Marriage Assistance PH service range.

25. Do you guarantee the marriage and documentation process?

Yes. Every service package includes both contractual guarantees.

Marriage Assistance PH commits to a marriage ceremony within 15 calendar days and completion of the covered marriage documentation within 25 working days, subject to the agreed commencement terms.

Our written agreement explains the guarantee conditions and contractual remedies.

These commitments do not exempt clients from legal requirements or transfer government decision-making powers to our company.

26. How much do your services cost?

The price depends on the package and any additional services you select.

Before you agree to proceed, we identify the package price, included services, any known third-party charges and applicable additional costs in writing.

You can review the package details in Our Services.

We do not add services to your booking without the necessary agreement.

27. When do we need to make payment?

The payment schedule is confirmed before your service begins.

Your quotation or agreement explains the relevant amount, payment dates, accepted arrangements and conditions for commencing the service.

You should review the payment and cancellation terms before authorising work.

28. Can we cancel our booking or request a refund?

Cancellation and refund rights depend on your contract, the nature of the services and the law applicable to your circumstances.

Where the statutory 14-day cancellation right applies to an eligible distance or off-premises consumer contract, you may exercise that right within the applicable period.

If you expressly request that services begin during that period, a lawful, proportionate charge may be payable for services already supplied before cancellation, provided the legal requirements are satisfied.

Starting work does not automatically make the entire fee non-refundable.

After services have begun, fees properly attributable to completed work and authorised commitments may be retained where the contract and applicable law permit.

Any loss of a statutory cancellation right following full performance is subject to the legal conditions, including the required request and acknowledgement.

Our Payment, Cancellation & Refund Policy and your agreement explain the relevant terms. Your mandatory consumer rights remain protected.

29. What happens if a guaranteed deadline is missed?

Both the 15-calendar-day marriage guarantee and the 25-working-day documentation guarantee are contractual commitments applicable to every package.

If you believe a guaranteed deadline has been missed, contact our team with your booking details so the circumstances and applicable agreement can be reviewed.

The contractual remedies stated in your agreement apply alongside any mandatory consumer remedies.

The agreement cannot remove rights that the law makes non-excludable.

No automatic waiver or indefinite extension of our guarantees should be inferred merely because official procedures involve third parties.
